Willie Limond will not now be appearing on the Scott Harrison - Victor Polo undercard. The Glasgow Super Featherweight has the flu and is now not expected to be back in the ring until March.
Illness and the lack of money on the table also knocked out a February clash with Manchester's Michael Gomez, but in tonight's Evening Times, Willie made it clear that he might be willing to meet him in the ring later in the year.
"Never say never as I'd love to fight him later in the year. If you can get past the opening six rounds against him, he is probably going to be there for the taking."
And he still has European glory in his sights. "I would love to fight Boris Sinitsin for his EBU belt. Sinitsin is a clever fighter and it would be tough, but not as brutal as a battle with Gomez. Sinitsin would be more of a chess match, whereas Gomez would be very physical."
Thomas Cannon, Chris Black and Colin McNeil are all fit and are due to appear on the Braehead Arena undercard on Friday night.
Tickets to see Scott Harrison defend his WBO World Featherweight title against Victor Polo are available from the Braehead Arena (0870 444 6062) and Morrisons Gym, Swanston St, Dalmarnock (0141 554 7777) priced at £30, £50, £75 and £125.
