Forgewood's Mark Hastie is through to the 64kg final at the Norway Box Cup tournament being held in Oslo this weekend.
He outpointed Norwegian Fahrad Amaru this afternoon to claim his place in tomorrow's final where he'll meet Denmark's Kenneth Nemming.
Broadwood's Mitch Prince and Leith Victoria's Steve Simmonds will be desperately disappointed not to be joining him - both drew their semi-final bouts before losing on the countback rule. Mitch's bout with Norwegian Mahdi Mohseni finished all square at 21-21, while Steve's bout with Kenneth Egerup from Denmark ended 25-25.
Fundo Mhura who was one of seven boxers who recently left Sparta to join Leith Victoria with coach coach Jack Graham lost 14-44 on points to Sweden's Naim Terbunja in the 69kg semis.
Yesterday Craig McEwan of Clovenstone went out at the quarter final stage, losing to Mohamed Hekal of Egypt 12-18, as did Craigmillar's Kenny Anderson who was beaten 7-16 by Anders H Nilsen of Denmark.
