Me Running Scared Of Gomez Is Bullshit - Alex Arthur

Alex Arthur has been quick to hit back at Michael Gomez who yesterday claimed that the Edinburgh boxer wasn't man enough to face him again, dismissing such talk as bullshit.

"After I'd beaten Nazareno Ruiz last December, I went up to Gomez and asked for a shot at his title," Arthur told the Daily Record, "but he turned me down and fled."

At the Meadowbank Stadium that night, Gomez said he would want £150,000 to fight Arthur again and seemed far more interested in fighting Willie Limond. For his part, Alex Arthur has always said he wants a rematch with Michael Gomez to prove that his defeat last time was down to him being ill on the night.

"I think all this is because he's trying to drum up some publicity for his fight against Javier Alvarez in Manchester next week," said Arthur, hitting the nail firmly on the head.

And as for a Gomez v Harrison fight? "Scott would beat Gomez easily."
