Murphy And McIntyre Nominated For British Title Eliminators

Lawrence Murphy has been nominated to fight in a British title eliminator against Wayne Elcock, the Birmingham boxer he sensationally KOd in one round to take the WBU Middleweight title in November 2003.

The rematch is likely to prove nowhere near as simple however for the Bellshill boxer. Murphy lost the belt in early 2004 to Anthony Farnell - the same Farnell whom Elcock had taken the title from in the first place.

The title eliminator is scheduled to take place by the end of April with purse bids due by the 9th of March.

And Light Welterweight Kevin McIntyre is also just one step away from a British title shot, but first he will have to beat Bobby Vanzie in an eliminator (again scheduled to take place before the end of April).

McIntyre has already had one shot at a British title, losing to still unbeaten David Barnes just over a year ago when challenging for the British Welterweight crown. Vanzie too is no stranger to British title fights, having twice lost controversially to Graham Earl when challenging for the Lightweight crown.
