Congratulations to Robbie Peden, the new IBF Super Featherweight Champion.
Peden stopped America's Nate Campbell at the end of the eight round of their title fight in Melbourne, Australia.
Although Australian by birth, Robbie's father Brian was born in Scotland and is widely regarded as one of Australia's best boxing coaches. He guided Robbie to two Olympics and a Commonwealth gold medal before his son headed for the USA to learn the professional game.
Alex Arthur is currently ranked 12th by the IBF and holds their Intercontinental belt. And with Scott Harrison also looking at the possibility of fighting at Super Featherweight, Robbie Peden may well become as well known here as he now is in Australia.
