Alex Arthur - Craig Docherty Showdown Heads For Edinburgh

The British Super Featherweight title fight between Craig Docherty and Alex Arthur took another twist today when Sports Network won the second round of purse bids and the right to stage the fight in Edinburgh.

Originally, Barry Hearn had won the first purse bid with the contest scheduled for later this month at the Kelvin Hall, Glasgow. But a change of date to the 9th of April without the agreement of both parties meant it was back to square one and purse bids had to be submitted again.

The fight will now take place on the 8th of April at the Meadowbank Sports Centre in Edinburgh, assuming both parties agree to this new date, with the bout to be shown live on Sky TV. As well as the vacant British title, Craig Docherty is to put his Commonwealth title on the table too.
