London based Dave Stewart is one step away from a British Lightweight title shot following the announcement that he will fight Danny Hunt in an eliminator on the 29th of April at The Elephant And Castle Leisure Centre, London, on the 29th of April.
Unbeaten Stewart who hails from Irvine originally beat the now retired Bobbie Vanzie on points last time out over four rounds, but otherwise his victories to date have come against journeymen and novices.
Danny Hunt has followed a similar career path to date, having won 17 out of 18 contests and having avenged his only defeat against Leeroy Williamson.
Hunt is the English Lightweight champion, although was lucky to hold onto the belt thanks to a very controversial win over Lee Meager who fights David Burke in the other eliminator on the same bill.
"Essex Boy" Hunt has the edge in terms of experience then. He's gone ten rounds three times in his career, while Dave Stewart has only fought four and six rounders to date.
