Scotland's Best Amateurs Face To Face In Coatbridge On Friday

20 boxers from 17 clubs from across Scotland will be at the Time Capsule in Coatbridge on Friday night to take part in the Scottish Amateur Boxing Senior Championships.

There have been some cracking contests in the run up to this year's finals, but none more talked about than Mitch Prince's victory over John Watson in the semi-finals. Now the 21 year old from Broadwood takes on Blantyre's Gary McArthur who is the current 64kg Scottish champion.

"I am very much looking forward to the Gary McArthur bout," Mitch told Scottish Boxing, "as I know it will be a really tough test. I am sure I can emerge the winner, but may the best man win. The John Watson bout was tough because I knew he was a tough opponent, and so I knew I would have to work 110%. I was happy with my performance as a whole."

Boxing starts at 8pm and the full line-up for the finals is as follows:

51kg USMAAN HUSSAIN (KINROSS) V STEVEN MARSHALL (INVERNESS)

54kg JAMES ANCLIFFE (GRANITE CITY) V MOHAMED STETO (KINGDOM)
